CSM - Tom Martinez Appreciation Award

The Tom Martinez Appreciation Award will be awarded to a College of San Mateo student-athlete, who has made good decisions, shows dedication, and puts forth their best effort in practice and on game day. Does things the “right way” _ uses good judgment in decision making during their tenure at CSM.

The Tom Martinez Appreciation Award is not based on athletic achievement or academic success. The intent of this appreciation award is to say ‘thank you’ and emphasize that the awardees’ examples are respected and their dedication is appreciated.

This award is dedicated to students who have competed in the following CSM sports: Football, Women’s Basketball, or Softball. The student must be a attending full time and be a student-athlete who has completed their second year of eligibility in athletics at CSM who is continuing at CSM or transferring.

One student will be recommended from each sport noted above. Students must be nominated by their coach.

The coach must write a letter of recommendation. The letter must specify with examples why the coach appreciates the athlete.
