SMCCCD - The Kruttschnitt Aspire Scholarship Program

The Kruttschnitt Aspire Scholarship Program (“KASP Program’”) is a renewable scholarship opportunity focused on providing financial resources that support fulltime enrollment for traditionally underserved and underrepresented students, including students who are eligible to apply for federal financial aid through the FAFSA and those ineligible for federal aid but who can apply for state financial aid through the California Dream Application. Fully qualified students must be academically-promising and demonstrate the highest financial need. Minimum criteria for consideration include a 2.5 GPA, San Mateo County residence for the past year and during receipt of the funds and plans to transfer to complete a four-year degree. Special consideration given to first generation college students, AB 540 Dreamers and DACA students, students who have achieved personal growth in spite of adversity and those that have demonstrated significant community service and/or involvement in extensive extra-curricular activities. If selected, students must maintain fulltime enrollment and academic eligibility.

The KASP Program is open to first time freshman (recent high school graduates) and continuing students attending the San Mateo County Community District Colleges (Cañada, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College). Finalists will be invited for an in-person interview with the KASP Scholarship Committee.
